Description

An important part of all collections housed in museums of ethnography consists of “indigenous weapons” and, more generally, objects used by traditional power holders. A set of parade, command axes and parade, swords, daggers and chairs is presented here. Collected in the 1930s, including the Second Swiss scientific mission in Angola, he comes among other Cokwe, Kwanyama, Kwamatwi, Ngangela. Each piece is described, illustrated, analyzed the wood and everything in its context of use.
