This book calls the reader to finally pay due attention to the art of this region by presenting 140 objects belonging to the Terence Pethica collection. These pieces are from the Republic of South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Angola and Zambia. This famous collection includes rare works of exceptional quality and extremely varied: jewelry and ornaments, kitchen utensils, command sticks, chopsticks dance, ritual figurines for initiation ceremonies, others to score the secret stages of personal development, articles for the battle, items for dance and the invocation of the spirits These objects, most have been reported in Europe in the late eighteenth and nineteenth century by missionaries or travelers, and were first found scattered in many collections country before being joined by Terence Pethica which formed the fund over the past fifteen years.
