This book owes much to the work of Marcel Griaule and Michel Leiris, pursued by Germaine Dieterlen and Geneviève Calm Griaule. The purpose of this book is not to compete with the publications of these eminent researchers, but to simply present the Dogon qoutidienne in their life by providing, in a deliberately simple form, the essence of what we should know about Dogon society to borrow a term Dogon, this book aims to be a “clear speech.”
