This traveling exhibition of UNESCO aims to provide an overview of the power, the beauty and variety of the applied arts of Oceania, where the creative genius is manifested even in the smallest human communities and more isolated. The areas of study are divided into three major cultural areas: that of New Guinea and Melanesia, West Irian to New Caledonia, that of Micronesia, Palau Islands in the Gilbert Islands, and the of Polynesia, so vast that its east-west axis runs from Fiji to Easter Island and the north-south axis from Hawaii to New Zealand.
