Study of a historical perspective, geographical, ethnological, religious, style etc … Around 1500 cartoon characters, masks and objects 17 people in four stylistic regions in the Congo, Angola and Gabon, as well as the 74 cards maps on endpapers. In this, the first volume of a series of four planned volumes, the author has divided the Kongo-speaking areas (Congo, Angola and Gabon) in four stylistic areas. The art of the northern peoples of the eastern areas of “Kongophone” Northwest and is discussed in relation to its various companies. The text (in French) and his thesis sure to generate a lot of discussion are accompanied by approximately 1,500 drawings and tens of maps, virtually ensures that this work will become a staple of any reference library of the art of Central Africa.
